Marissa is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Culinary Nutrition Expert - Hons.
A long-time fitness and wellness enthusiast, she is passionate about the principals of Nutrition and how they play into optimal health.
Marissa has chosen to specialize in Women's Health. Hormonal imbalances and Menstrual health, nutrient deficiencies, pre/post natal care, digestive dysfunction and autoimmune diseases and many others are conditions that are on the rise. Marissa has made it her mission to bring eduction surrounding women's health to the forefront and provide support and education to women of all ages that support the reclaiming of health and wellness.
Marissa exercises regularly for her physical and mental health and believes that physical activity and moving in different ways at different times of the month is paramount to hormonal, mental and physical wellbeing. Marissa cultivates a balanced lifestyle that is centered around mindfulness, eating whole/natural foods, exercising daily, getting amply sleep and enjoying life with her young family.
Marissa’s passion for health and fitness began at the age of 5. She was a National Level Competitive dancer. Spending more than 15 year in the dance world, she developed a deep commitment to physical fitness and learned the begins of how to eat for a health body composition. This background lead her to the fitness industry where she developed a passion for helping others achieve their wellness goals. Marissa spent the past 16 years in the Fitness industry, acquiring her 200-hour RYT as Yoga Instructor, she has a developed a labour of love for Yoga and uses the mindfulness and self-care teachings she has learned with her clients today.
Marissa has developed a desire for teaching others, both one and one and in group settings. She currently presents various education sessions on a broad range of topics including specific conditions (hormone health, support for fertility, menstrual health and women’s health) as well as eating for general wellness.
Marissa’s goals as a Nutritionist include leading others to the benefits of whole foods for optimal health and finding sustainable dietary lifestyles for each of her clients. She teaches these principals by leading by example, educating her clients on the “why’s” behind eating specific foods and ensuring her clients have all the support they need to make necessary and sustainable lifestyle changes.
